Annual online video awards show The Streamy Awards is to return in 2012 after a hiatus in 2011.
The revived Streamys, presented by Tubefilter, is aiming for new heights in 2012 with the announcement that the show itself will be produced by Dick Clark Productions, the production company behind the Golden Globes, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and other awards shows.
“The goal is to create another franchise along the lines of our American Music Awards or the Academy of Country Music Awards,” said Ariel Elazar, VP of digital distribution and brand licensing at Dick Clark Productions in an interview with Variety.
The show recognizes excellence in the arts and science of web television production, including directing, acting, producing, and writing.
