YouTube has released its most viewed videos of 2011, and the results will probably not entirely surprise you.
One notable announcement pertains to viewing stats- according to YouTube’s blog, more than a trillion videos (1,000,000,000,000) were watched worldwide, which breaks down to about 140 videos in 2011 per person on Earth. YouTube also culled the top viewed videos globally, which- funnily enough- was topped by a nearly universally despised song, Rebecca Black’s “Friday”:
- Rebecca Black – Friday (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
- Ultimate Dog Tease
- Jack Sparrow (feat. Michael Bolton)
- Talking Twin Babies – PART 2 – OFFICIAL VIDEO
- Nyan Cat [original]
- Look At Me Now – Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes (Cover by @KarminMusic)
- The Creep (feat. Nicki Minaj & John Waters)
- Maria Aragon – Born This Way (Cover) by Lady Gaga
- The Force: Volkswagen Commercial
- Cat mom hugs baby kitten
The site also tallied up the most watched channels, topped by YouTube fixtures Machinima, IGN, the Annoying Orange and Lonely Island:
