Charter Communications is taking three of the most popular streaming services- Amazon, Hulu and Netflix- and pulling them together to pool the content for subscribers on Charter.net.
The mish-mash of content from the three services will increase the amount of viewing choices available for subscribers in a single place (providing customers have access to the services included), and will be available on tablets and mobile devices as it rolls out. The company indicates “next year” as a launch timeframe, but was not more specific.
Senior vice president for product and strategy at Charter Rich DiGeronimo said in a statement:
“Consumers are watching streaming video from a variety of content providers on multiple devices at an increasing rate… This is just the beginning of our aspiration to deliver the best customer experience with all video content on all devices, everywhere our customers go.”
Charter also indicated an intent to beef up offerings of sport and entertainment in general for devices like tablets and smartphones.
