AOL wants to make sure their own agenda is met when it comes to internet regulation, privacy, computer security and other online issues and to reach those goals the company spent $130,000 in lobbying efforts during the last quarter.
According to Times Of India:
That’s less than the $141,300 the New York-based company spent in the first quarter. AOL didn’t report lobbying expenses for the year-earlier period.
The company also spent money on consumer protection and net neutrality battles as high-speed internet providers attempted to discriminate against certain types of online traffic.
With an ever increasing amount of new media content and several very public battles it should come as no surprise that AOL has been throwing money behind issues that affect their bottom line and protects their bottom line.
