Facebook and Miramax on Monday announced a new video streaming partnership that makes various titles available for 30 day rental periods.
The partnership according to PaidContent is the largest-scale Facebook streaming movie app to-date.
Under terms of the deal Facebook will begin by offering 20 titles for rent in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K. and Turkey, among those titles are Chicago, Cold Mountain and Good Will Hunting.
The app works by allowing Facebook users to rent 30 day movies using Facebook credits, currently 30 Facebook credits ($3) gives users 30 days to view the titles they choose, once a viewer begins watching a title they have 48 hours to finish that movie before it expires.
Miramax, while the biggest distributor of streaming movies on the service to date is not the first, NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures and Viacom also offer streaming video services through the social network.
Movies rented through the Miramax application can be viewed on Apple iPad devices and Google TV.
