Smartclip, a display advertising company that provides targeted ads for news channels has signed a pan-European agreement with online news broadcaster Livestation.
Ads from the Livestation inventory will be included in Smartclip’s ad network, including the company’s ad server for web-connected TVs. Livestations inventory includes video streams from popular news networks including Al Jazeera, BBC and CNN.
Offered as a free service across mobile devices, tablets, PCs and connected TVs, Livestation hopes that the new partnership will allow them to serve more relevant content to advertisers, thus increasing ad spend based on successfully converting targeted advertisements.
According to Livestation CEO Lippe Oosterhof:
“Live news is one of the most powerful content categories and Livestation has been very successful at attracting a large and premium audience,” Oosterhof added, “Our visitors are interested in following live news throughout the day and appreciate getting multiple points of view on a story.”
SmartClip UK will work with premium news brands to develop advertisements that center around LiveStation’s specific programming content.
Smartclip is no stranger to connected TV advertising, last year they partnered with Panasonic, Philips and Samsung to create the Universal TV Adserver Interface. [via]
