Digital weekly magazine publisher Nomad Editions has announced that David Sleight has joined the company as their new Chief Technology Officer.
Sleight comes from an online digital background having served as the deputy creative director of BusinessWeek.com and the founder of Stuntbox LLC, a design consultancy firm which specializes in “UX, creative direction and business strategy for companies looking to get the most out of their design resources.”
Nomad Editions is new kind of media publishing firm in that they only provide their weekly content on mobile and tablet devices such as the iPad, iPhone, Android phones and other mobile products.
Sleight brings more than a decade worth of experience to the company including extensive work in “user experience” models and technical standards which will benefit the company’s goal of delivering the best possible user experience to mobile users.
His work also includes past work for web-based textbook company Pearson Education.
Speaking of the company’s new hire CEO Mark Edminston said of Sleight:
“We are excited to bring such an extraordinary talent to our company,” while adding, “David has long been recognized for his impressive interactive design work at BusinessWeek, as well as at Stuntbox. With his direction and creative eye, we hope to elevate Nomad Editions to the next level in engaging digital design and publishing.”
Since the company’s official launch in January 2011 seven digital publications have been revealed, while the company recently partnered with Apple for iPad and iPhone offerings. Among the company’s newest offerings are Sustainable Money and Good Dog.
