In this fallow week of scant tech news and even scanter regular news, the story of “rogue” PR agent Paul Christoforo and the Avenger gaming device has captivated the attention of the internet in a way only giant flameball trainwrecks do.
However, as is customary with such flame-outs, some innocent parties have been sucked into the backlash. One such entity would be N-Control, maker of the single controller accessory that kicked off the whole debacle. N-Control has released a statement that can only be described as long-ass, pleading with buyers to divorce the Christoforo debacle from their perception of the device.
Amusingly, one new rep for N-Control addressed Christoforo’s very public downfall in the release:
“We have to move forward and take care of Avenger’s customers. I can’t worry about the fact that there isn’t a bus big enough for me to throw Paul Christoforo under. The internet did that for me. I think they set him on fire too. I just hope that people will have the common decency to leave his wife and child out of all this. They didn’t send those emails, Paul did.”
