Although pricing and the exact launch date for Netflix’s launch in the UK and Ireland have yet to be disclosed to eager potential customers, another major studio has partnered with the streaming video service to provide content for new UK and Ireland Netflix subscribers.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Netflix had entered a deal with MGM to stream content including first-run films to the service, and the new partnership will open up content to users including the new Hunger Games films, The Expendables 2 and Reservoir Dogs. Lionsgate UK CEO Zygi Kamasa commented on the company’s reaction to the deal:
“Netflix is the leading worldwide brand in steaming movies and they have an incredible service in North America… We are very excited to be working with them as they launch their service and bring our movies to audiences in the UK and Ireland.”
In addition to pricing and release date, the UK market also has yet to learn which devices- such as PS3, Wii and XBox- will be supported for Netflix streaming.
