ABC News is reporting that their ABCNews.com portal witnessed a 98% increase in traffic in October when compared to September traffic numbers, an increase witnessed directly after the company signed a partnership agreement with Yahoo, Inc.
When the two company’s formed their partnership they said it would bring in a monthly reach of more than 100 million U.S. users and so far that promise has shown to be true.
Here are some of the big milestones reached thanks to the partnership which is just over one month old:
- ABC News Digital saw 98 percent more traffic than September.
- Video streams for ABC News content have increased by 56 percent.
- ABC News/Yahoo! News video series added over 120 million more page views to ABCNews.com‘s record monthly total.
- Goodmorningamerica.com, which is powered by Yahoo!’s global technology platform, has received over 70 million page views and reaches over one million users each day on average.
Under the deal both sides maintain their own properties, for example ABC owns their original content found on ABCNews.com and GoodMorningAmerica.com while Yahoo News and other Yahoo properties are provided with Yahoo original content. In the meantime teams from Yahoo and ABC are working on collaborative original content that appears on both company’s sites.
Starting this winter comScore will combine traffic numbers from ABC News Digital and Yahoo! News to create a separate score known as the Yahoo! News – ABC News Network category
